The National Bank predicts fall in the GDP of Kyrgyzstan by 4 percent by the end of the year

In 2020, the GDP is expected to decline by about 4 percent compared to 2019. This is stated in the report on the monetary policy of the National Bank.

It is noted that, excluding enterprises for the development of Kumtor, a decrease in the GDP in 2020 is expected to be about 5 percent. According to the forecast, the biggest fall may be in the first half of the year – 16 percent at once.

Given the assumption of a trend towards a recovery in economic activity, in 2021 the real GDP growth is expected to be about 6.2 percent, excluding “Kumtor” – 6.7 percent.
