On May 21, 2021, the next bank round table was held, organized by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The bank round table was attended by management and employees of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the State Financial Intelligence Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan, OJSC “Guarantee Fund”, Deposit Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic, CJSC “Interbank Processing Center” and commercial banks.
The participants of the event discussed the most important issues of the banking sector: banking in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic of coronavirus infection, consideration of the situation for borrowers who suffered as a result of the events that occurred in the Batken region, as well as current trends in improving the regulation of banking and the digitalization of banking services.
During the work of the banking round table, it was noted that the situation related to the pandemic of coronavirus infection has become a test, including for the banking sector of the country. However, despite the difficult situation, the banking system was able to adequately overcome all the difficulties. Such situations further demonstrate the importance of close cooperation between the regulator and commercial banks to successfully overcome crises.
The Banking Round Table is a traditional platform for members of the banking sector, where the most significant issues of the banking community are discussed.
