  • Today, May 6, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbai Zheenbekov received the chairman of the Board of OJSC “Guarantee Fund”, Malik Abakirov, the RKDF, Aziz Aaliev, OJSC “Aiyl Bank”, Baktybek Shamkeev, and OJSC “RSK Bank”, Azizbek Omorkulov.

    The activities of the country’s financial institutions in the conditions of emergency and the measures taken to support business activity in the country were discussed.

    The President Sooronbai Zheenbekov noted that within the framework of state policy in this situation, emphasis should be placed on the maximum support of enterprises so that they receive real, tangible help and can reach the planned capacities in future, as well as the opening of new export-oriented industries, especially in agriculture.

    The head of state emphasized that the funds of financial institutions should be given priority, as before, to support enterprises in regions, including export-oriented ones. He, especially, highlighted the financing of cluster programs as one of the main tasks for 2020.

    The heads of financial institutions provided information on current activities in the context of the negative impact of coronavirus infection on business activity, and spoke about priority plans for near future.

    Since the start of this year, OJSC “Guarantee Fund” has issued 593 guarantees, of which 97% are provided to the regions. The implementation of two cluster projects – Integrated Dairy Productivity Improvement in Issyk-Kul and Intensive Sheep Husbandry Development – is also ongoing.

    It was noted that the activities of financial institutions, despite the spread of coronavirus infection in the country, have not stopped. Of priority are projects aimed at supporting business initiatives in the regions of the country.

    The president Sooronbai Zheenbekov, once again emphasized the importance of supporting export-oriented enterprises, especially in remote areas, to create new jobs. Along with that, he recalled the need to strengthen the digitalization of financial services.
